"I just want to say thank you for serving us dinner tonight.  This gift you bring to us is greatly appreciated and goes a long way.  You bring a sense of happiness and a warm feeling into my heart with your gift, and joy and harmony into my life.  So thank you."

-- A note from a client at the men's homeless shelter where KidzCare USA sometimes serves meals

about kidzcareusa
At KidzCare® USA Inc., we believe that even the youngest children can make positive and lasting changes in our society if we help them to develop lifelong habits of service and giving.  Although most children are now required to spend some time doing community service work during their high school years, we want kids to get excited about community service at a much younger age, and to carry that excitement forward into their high school years and beyond!

The mission of KidzCare® USA, Inc. is to inspire in children a life-long love of philanthropy and a genuine heart for service, by educating them about the needs that exist in our world and engaging them in hands-on service projects."

KidzCare® USA, Inc. fulfills its mission through two different programs:
YEAR-LONG SERVICE-LEARNING CLASSES
We offer weekly 2-hour classes designed for home schooled children (and other children with flexible schedules) in elementary and middle school.  Each class has a "lesson" component and a "service" component, so that the students will be learning about a need and then immediately completing simple projects to help meet that need.  Nearly all classes include guest speakers from various non-profit organizations throughout the region who help educate the students about the work their particular organization does. Classes run from October-May.  We encourage all of our students to set a personal goal of earning 50 hours of community service time, which is enough to qualify them to receive the bronze Presidential Volunteer Service Award.  Most of these hours can be earned merely by attending classes.  We also offer ample opportunities for 1-day volunteer opportunities outside of class, for those students who wish to work toward a higher number of community service hours.  Classes meet on Mondays from 9:30-11:30a.m. at a place to be announced soon.

ORGANIZED VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:
Children who are not enrolled in the regular KidzCare® USA class may also participate in our numerous organized volunteer opportunities. All students, ages 5-17 are welcome to participate in these events.  Younger students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and we strongly encourage all parents to participate with their children in order to develop a family commitment to service.  In order to be eligible to attend our group volunteer opportunities, you will need to register with KidzCare® USA
