Join us for our 1st annual SERVAPALOOZA weekend!  April 23-25 is "Global Youth Service Day" weekend and we have a whole weekend of service events planned for kids of all ages!  For more information about Global Youth Service Day, visit www.gysd.org.  To register for the events below click here.

April 23, "Evening of Service"
On Friday, April 23 from 4:00-7:00pm, join us for an evening of hands-on service events for kids ages 5-13.  We will be learning about what kids can do about issues such as homelessness, animals in need, immigrants, and children with illnesses.  We will also have the following service projects available and kids may participate in as many as they like:

  1. Creating greeting cards and goodie bags for sick children at The Children's Inn at NIH
  2. Making cage signs promoting animal adoption for the Montgomery County Humane Society
  3. Making brown-bag breakfasts for the day laborers at CASA de Maryland's day laborer center
  4. And more!

Kids who complete all of our available service projects will be eligible to enter a drawing for our grand prize!

Pizza, soda and water will be available at 5:30pm for $1 each.

Please register in advance as we do anticipate that this event will fill up quickly!

April 24, "Gardening at the Homeless Shelter" (This Event is Full)
On Saturday, April 24 from 12:00-4:00pm, join us for a day of spring yard cleanup at the men's homeless shelter in Rockville, where we will be cleaning up debris, weeding, pruning, watering, mulching, and planting annuals.

Cost:   FREE, but all child participants must wear a yellow KidzCare USA t-shirt.  If you need a shirt, they will be available on the day of the event for a $15 donation per shirt.

April 25, "Roadside Cleanup"
On Sunday, April 25 from 2:00-4:00pm, join us for a roadside cleanup along the Georgia Avenue service road in Rockville/Silver Spring.
